Community Involvement
Dr. Martha M. Davis and the staff of Terra Linda Veterinary Hospital believe that it is impossible for a caring and thriving veterinary practice to be divorced from the community it serves. We all live in Marin County and love the natural beauty of this region and take great pride in the vibrancy of our communities. Without our friends and neighbors we simply would not be what we are today.
For these reasons we enjoy being a good neighbor and take every opportunity to do our part to sustain and strengthen the communities that make up Marin County. Members of our staff routinely volunteer at their local library. We perform volunteer work for WildCare, a local wildlife rehabilitation facility. We participate in beach cleanups and trash pickups. We donate our expertise to the Marin County Humane Society.
We participate in the Low Cost Spay and Neuter Program through the Marin County Humane Society. We also participate in Marin Humane Society's SHARE (Special Human-Animal Relationships) program, which provides pet care assistance to low-income seniors as well as Animal Assisted Therapy services to seniors.
Dr. Davis and the staff at Terra Linda Veterinary Hospital are engaged in a number of education related efforts. We regularly contribute to events sponsored by our local schools as well as take time to provide lectures and information on veterinary topics at the schools. We also contribute on an ongoing basis to the University of California at Davis for companion animal research as well as to the Marine Mammal Center for research and rehabilitation of marine mammals.
We also participate in the Marin Human Race to support local nonprofits, and Girls on the Run. Dr. Davis serves on the board of the Marin County Veterinary Medical Association and the Black Point Community Planning Committee.
In all, Terra Linda Veterinary Hospital is very proud of our contributions—both in volunteer hours and financial—to the communities of Marin County. We are but one patch of a very large quilt of people and organizations helping to sustain and make where we live a better place to be.
