At Terra Linda Veterinary Hospital, we have been serving our local community for over 60 years. We are proud to be privately owned, with our local leadership in place for the last 20 years. We have a unique opportunity to serve families with multiple generations of pets. We place an emphasis on educating our clients and providing transparent treatment costs. What You’ll Be Working On

  • Build and maintain client relationships.
  • Diagnose, treat and manage a variety of small animal cases.
  • Perform general wellness exams and surgeries.
  • Maintain a high level of client communication and patient care.
  • Guide and utilize exceptional support staff.
  • Maintain a positive work environment and promote teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from an accredited program is required.
  • Be licensed or able to be licensed in the state of California.
  • General medicine experience required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience preferred.
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and continuous learning.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work up cases.
  • Good Producer.
  • Leadership Skills.
  • Willingness to participate in staff development.
  • Positive Can-Do attitude.

What You’ll Be Working On

  • Effectively communicate and educate clients on care for their pet.
  • Provide hospital patient care including surgical prep and post-op care.
  • Perform anesthesia, venipuncture, and IV catheterization.
  • Prepare surgical equipment, including sterilization.
  • Safe animal restraint/handling.
  • Assist DVMs with case intake, diagnostics, treatment, and discharge.
  • Monitor patient conditions during treatments.
  • Maintain a positive work environment and promote teamwork.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance (OSHA, DEA, CA Medical Board).
  • Oversee medical support staff to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the clinic.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • RVT Certification.
  • A minimum of at least two years of experience as a veterinary technician preferred.
  • A minimum of at least one year of experience in a management or leadership role preferred.
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and continuous learning.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong desire to support training and development of medical staff.
  • Ownership Mentality.

What Skills are Vital?

  • 2+ years of clinical experience in the veterinary industry
  • Proper pet handling
  • Ability to assist with treatment on pets including but not limited to vaccines, ear cleanings, nail trims, anal gland expressions, bloodwork, radiographs, etc.
  • Surgical prep, assistance, and monitoring
  • Client education (flea control, preventative care, explaining medical concepts to clients, etc.)
  • Preparation of lab samples and familiarity of Idexx in-house equipment
  • Ability to organize, stay focused, prioritize and multi-task. Positive can-do attitude!
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and continuous learning
